Hello World (Wide Web)

I recently started taking a website development class at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC). I'm hoping to expand my limited knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies so that I can toil with a few website ideas. Additionally, I get extra credit in my class for maintaining a blog, so I will be writing at least once a week for the next couple months. I will try to focus on the lessons I learn, while trying not to repeat the ubiquitous information about basic web development. I'll be including many links to the tutorials and beginner guides I find most helpful. I'll also link to the projects I have to create for class. You can view the source html of my assignments for added assistance. In Firefox you can hit CTRL+U or click the menu View -> Page Source.

The first helpful HTML link I will post is from w3schools. They have many helpful explanations and examples for learning HTML tags, as well as CSS, SQL, PHP, ASP, and more. Here are most of the tags briefly explained:
